This term we will be focusing on:
Week 1 - 2: Epistolary fiction. Students will explore first hand accounts of peoples experiences and achievements through diary entries and letter writing. This will support students with writing their own letters. We will also work on our research skills and be more precise when searching for information.
Week 3 - 6: Reports.
Reading to gather and process information and visual language features while using different media sources. Students will be focusing on reports to help scaffold their knowledge around early Aotearoa history.
Week 7 - 11: Narratives.
Students will read culturally significant myths and legends from Aotearoa. There will be a focus on language features and the effect they have on readers.
