Weekly Priorities
Spelling:
All students have completed a spelling test assessing gaps in their knowledge of sounds in words and different spelling patterns. Spelling word lists are based on these gaps which means they will start off easier, and get progressively harder as the student's spelling improves. Any students with 4 or more incorrect words after the weekly test, will keep those same words to learn the following week. Spelling tests will be on Fridays. It is essential that students have their 3B1 notebook at school with them, as words lists are individual and will not be posted online.
Basic Facts:
Students are given a sheet of basic facts questions every Monday to practice at home. When they are able to answer 47/50 questions correctly in our Friday test, they move on to the next sheet. Some students will have the same sheet for more than one week as they develop their maths skills.
Sheets are levelled at Stage 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8. The prototec website can also be used to support this learning.
