This term we will be focusing on:
Week 1-2: Letter Writing: Students will practice writing letters to various audiences and learn about formal and informal writing and vocabulary.
Week 3-6: Explanation Writing: Students will be learning to write explanations on certain systems, cycles or processes and how they work.
Week 7-11: Report Writing: Students will practice writing reports on certain topics and explore the structure and language that goes into making these pieces of writing.

Include details to support ideas.
Vocabulary
Use words and phrases that are specific to the topic and purpose of writing.

Use the text structure and language that meets the purpose for writing.
Y6 - Writing
Ideas & Details
Carefully select relevant details to support ideas.
Vocabulary
Deliberately select specific vocabulary that is appropriate to the topic, purpose and learning area.
Structure & Language
Choose the appropriate text structure and written and visual language features that meet the purpose for writing and engage the audience.
