Final Information for the VECF1
Proposers: Jacques Besson, Meinhard Kuna, Steffen Gerke, Zhiliang Zhang
Summary: The Symposium will bring together researchers developing models and associated numerical methods to simulate damage development, crack initiation and growth in test specimens and actual structures.
The main topics will be as follows:
Development of new damage/fracture models
Tools to simulate the failure of specimens and structures
Phase-field models for failure
Regularized models for failure
Crack propagation over long distances / re-meshing
Cohesive Zone Models
Tools for LEFM --- NLFM
X--FEM methods
Tools for ductile, creep, brittle fracture and transition
Applications to large structures
All contributions in the form of extended abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the members of TC8 Scientific Committee. Full papers will be published in a special issue of the ESIS scientific journals (Elsevier) upon peer review and acceptance.
