Final Information for the VECF1
Dear friends,
the 1st Virtual European Conference on Fracture (VECF1) is already started!! You can watch all the presentations in the dedicated website: LINK.
The programme of the conference is available in the website (LINK) and a pdf version is also available here: LINK
The online activity will be held between 29.06 and 01.07 using the Google Meet platform.
Participants: watch the videos of your interest and prepare the questions;
Authors: prepare a very short version of your presentation (1 minute, max 2). You can also prepare one slide (but it is not mandatory);
Chairpersons: prepare at least one question for each presentation in the session you will chair;
Invited lecturers: prepare a short version of your presentations (5-10 minutes max);
Organizers: you can have a little rest, finally!
The conference has two parallel sessions (Programme) and it will be held in two virtual Rooms (Room 1 and Room 2). The platform used for the conference is Google Meet. The best participation experience is obtained using Google Chrome. In order to join the conference, you have one procedure:
Procedure: Use the @structuralintegrity.eu account we sent you. This is a Google account. It will be sufficient to login in Chrome using this account and then open the Room of interest (tutorial “How to sign in a Google account”: LINK).
Second (no more) possible procedure: In these days I sent you a message offering you the possibility to join the conference using your personal Gmail account without asking a permission. Unfortunately, in these days Google decided to cancel this possibility.
Participants: Switch off the microphones unless you want to talk. If you talk, switch off the microphone after you finish. Enjoy the conference!
Authors: you will have to respect the schedule of the Programme (LINK). You have to held a really short presentation of the core of your work (1-2 minutes max) and then answer to the questions (probably, the first one from the chairperson).
Chairpersons: You will have to handle the sessions, checking the time, and liven up the sessions (e.g., posing the first question to the authors).
Invited lecturers: You will have to present a short version of your work (5-10 minutes max) and then you will have to answer the questions from the chairpersons or from the participants.
Organizers: you will supervise the activities (and you will also have a rest!)
Participants, Authors, Chairpersons, Invited lecturers: you can have a rest!
Organizers: you will not stop to have a rest!
Authors: prepare the paper for the Procedia Structural Integrity issue. In the website (LINK) you can find the Template to be used. The deadline for the submission is 20.08.2020.
Thank you for joining us and I hope we will have a great virtual event! Ciao
