• Providing exam practice: Weekly practice of 4-mark and 12-mark exam-style questions using the AQA format, alongside model answers and structured peer/self-assessment to build confidence with mark schemes.

• Developing extended writing skills: Scaffolding 12-mark questions using PEEL paragraphs, teaching how to construct balanced arguments with sociological perspectives, and providing regular timed writing tasks with feedback.

• Reinforcing key terms: Focusing on weekly vocabulary (e.g., norms, values, culture) with retrieval quizzes, glossary-building, and key term tracking sheets. Real-life examples are used in lessons to embed understanding.

• Supporting research skills: Introducing a mini research task where pupils plan and evaluate a basic sociological study, practising research methods and ethics.

• Monitoring and tracking progress: Conducting fortnightly knowledge checks and one extended writing assessment per module. Feedback grids track progress on knowledge, application (AO2), and analysis (AO3), with seating and support adjusted based on ongoing performance.

• Providing targeted interventions: Offering in-lesson support using sentence starters, writing frames, and vocabulary prompts. Optional after-school drop-ins focus on revision and addressing specific gaps in understanding.
