Reppilf

Reppilf V1

Reppilf is our first 3lb combat robot. It is a pneumatic flipper bot that is powered by a 25g co2 cartridge. It has a steel shell and flipper arm so it can really take a beating. Reppilf V1 was designed to have 4 drone motors directly driving each wheel which caused it to be too fast but not have enough torque. The only way we could sort of get it driving was with 3D printed wheels which made it drift a lot.

Reppilf V2

Reppilf V2 aims to fix all of the drive problems of V1. Instead of directly driving each wheel V2 has two motors with 22:1 gearboxes on each side that will be belted to the front and back wheels. Instead of 3D printed wheels we machined aluminum wheels with spikes on them to really dig into the plywood arena floors. To make these changes we have to reorganize all of the electronics and get a smaller battery. The previous battery allowed for 22 minutes of full driving which is way overkill since each match is only 3 minutes. Getting a new battery saved us space and weight. V2 is yet to be built as we are waiting for parts to come in.
