Middle School Projects

Building with Vex Robot Kits-

Students in middle school learn multiple lessons with our Vex construction kits. Pseudo code, gear mechanisms, and general robot construction being some of those lessons. Learning about sensors is one of our first robot lessons. Students must build a board to control their different sensors and motors.

Design and Modeling lessons-

Here students learn the engineering process as they build a foot orthosis prototype for a hypothetical child with cerebral palsy.

3D Printing-

In these lessons students learn the steps to build a 3D mind wood puzzle. They must measure it properly with dial calipers and draw the puzzle in the 3 engineering views. This translates into building objects in 3D space so that we can replicate then build the puzzle pieces in digital space. After this multi-stage students will be prepared to make objects with the 3D printer.
