Grade 2 Music
Our 2nd Grade musicians attend two, 40-minute music classes each week. We explore using our singing voices in a healthy way to sing in unison and simple harmony. We and learn to play percussion instruments as accompaniment to singing, and as a cohesive instrumental ensemble. 2nd Grade musicians explore and practice using musical contrasts to express ideas and emotions. We solidify our understanding of steady beat through movement and dance, and we learn to decode and compose rhythmic and melodic notation.
