Grade 1 Music
Our 1st Grade musicians attend one, 40-minute music class each week. We explore using our singing voices in a healthy way, and we learn to play percussion instruments to accompany our singing. 1st Grade musicians explore musical contrasts - high and low, fast and slow, loud and quiet, legato and staccato - and we discover how music can express emotion. We solidify our understanding of steady beat through movement and dance, and we learn to decode and compose simple rhythmic and melodic notation.
