Plans and Vision
What we already do:
-The Education in Human Love unit of work in Year 9 addresses many aspects of human love and moral responsibility.
- We have dedicated pages in school planners which mention bullying and there is a specific point about our school being inclusive for students who identify as LGBTQ+. LGBTQ+ bullying is not tolerated in our school.
- In PSHE we cover many aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships, different types of relationships and families as well as peer on peer abuse in assemblies and FGM.
-In PSHE we also cover the protected characteristics whereby we look at the Equalities Act and that discrimination against anyone based on their protected characteristics is against the law
- We have a confidential report button whereby students can raise concerns or alerts to any LGBTQ+ issues that may arise in the school and members of staff will deal with the issues raised.
Actions:
The Education in Human Love branch of Imago Dei is launched this year with student voice being an integral part of the work that we will do.
Review relevant policies to see how it deals with, and responds to, LGBTQ+ bullying specifically.
Further education is needed around LGBTQ+ awareness in school and anti-bullying.
An assembly, for students on Human Love in February.
Events: Human Love Month: February
