Plans and Vision
What we already do:
-The SEND department does an excellent job to meet student needs.
-ASD assembly took place to raise awareness.
-The school has an ASD action plan to secure an award. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-strategy-for-autistic-children-young-people-and-adults-2021-to-2026
-Departments review progress of students with particular attention given to SEND students.
Actions:
-Further education around microaggressions/ language towards people with disabilities + visible and hidden disability.
-Exploring the spaces and noise experienced by ASD students.
-Celebrating excellence from those who have a disability.
-Library and literature around diversity.
-Research possibility of sensory room
