Hello, my name is Sasha Olivares and I am a sophomore at SPHS. I love writing about personal experiences and turning them into something much larger. I love making up stories and writing about romance and mystery. I wrote this piece because Ojo is something that is known and well loved in my culture, it is something that I know and love but there is a handful of people that see it as something bad, so I wanted to write from both perspectives that I have in my family because I get mixed opinions about Ojo.
La Buena y El Mal
Que bonita eres, ojo rojo Que mala eres, ojo rojo.
You protect me from the things People view you as a sin
That want to take over People see you as the devil
You make me look in a bracelet form
forward to the day some say it's black magic
And are not scared lots of people say it is brujeria
of what's to come You come in different colors
The power you hold is amazing Representing the
One day my head is down Different parts of hell
Looking at my steps To some people
One foot If you break
After the The fun ends
Other. And the horror begins
Not knowing what will be said looking left to right
Not knowing what will get thrown to see the bad spirit lurking
At me A dark and beautiful meaning
But this all happens because I don't broke, you are being watched
Have a red and no longer protected
Ojo bracelet on. You get watched by the eyes
As soon as that of an angel, the devil and human
Red Ojo bracelet gets put on you get thrown away after the heart is broken
I feel this surge of energy you don't look back, looking back into what could be evil
through my body A new soul is being watched over by angels
It's almost like this boost of adrenaline then it breaks
Its an uncontrollable happiness. and the cycle will start again.
