*Do this first*
Pre-Algebra
Turn in: The Distance Formula WHODUNNIT? should be turned in. Did you figure out who committed the "crime"?!
You all did very well on the MadLibs that you turned in on Tuesday. I wonder if Mr. Shifley can tell us about the coffee he had with Baker Mayfield?! It seems like you have a pretty good handle on the Pythagorean Theorem. Hopefully you grasped the Distance Formula just as well.
Today we will be learning about the Mid-Point Formula and using it to free Louie the dog from lockup! This will be the last new lesson before the test next Friday. Tuesday we will Zoom so we can all review together. This way I can go over any misconceptions you have and the ones I noticed while grading some of your assignments. This is a tough unit to do through distance learning - I am proud of how you have worked hard to continue to learn.
LIST OF IXL REVIEW POSSIBILITIES (not required): F 15 - 19; N 4; R 4 - 5 Just some ideas if you want to review for the test.

For our Zoom class on Friday, I would like you to finish Tangerine. Start at November 27th, and read to the end. This is about 66 pages, and you have three days, so why not divide it into thirds? There are no questions for this assignment; just enjoy the reading! On Friday at 10:00, we will discuss and possibly have a test on this book.
Power of the Pen

Georgia O'Keefe Composition Drawing
I can create a composition that creates an abstraction of an object.
Materials: drawing materials and paper (ruler may be helpful if you want to grid your drawing from a reference photo)
Today we are going to learn about the importance of composition.
Remember: our order of creating an artwork demands that composition is one of the first things we determine.
Georgia O'Keefe played with composition to make us see the much-used subject of a flower in a totally new way. She broke from tradition, and wanted to do things her own way. Usually that makes for fantastic artwork.
Directions:
1.Choose an object to observe closely.
2.Draw this object so that it runs off 3 corners of your paper.
3. Experiment with different ways to color in your object on another piece of scrap paper. Do you like bold colors up against softly blended colored pencils?
4. Add color to your object. You control how much abstraction is present in your image by manipulating the composition.
6.Post to Artsonia Access Code: BZBF-MZKX Folder: Georgia O'Keefe Composition Study
7. Artsonia giving you a hard time? Have a question? First, read all directions, and watch the video (#5) then email Mrs. Seeholzer cseeholzer@stpaulwestlake.org
