Pre-Algebra

Turn in: Please make sure you have completed and "turned in" the Properties of Square Roots Digital Notebook on Google Classroom BEFORE our live lesson this morning.


Algebra

Power of the Pen

Creative Writing Story: We did our prewriting last week, and you filled in your chart, and, now, it's time to start writing. Go to Document 4 before you start for your final instructions. The first draft of your story will be due by the end of today.


History

We begin a new chapter! We are skipping ahead to Chapter 15 and learning about Slavery and the Road to the U.S. Civil War. You have two activities to do today:

  1. Read and complete the Ch 15.1 Outline

  2. Read and respond to the Frederick Douglas Biography

  • Try your hand at making a form and posting it in the Google Classroom "Stream"! Use good judgement when making and asking the questions. You will earn points for making a form.

  • Work on any make-up items. Look in Tabs-assignments with 0 or blank are not done. Thank you to almost all the class that has been keeping up!

  4. Please complete NEW 2 full sections, last time you were to finish Coloring and Variables. This time finish Animation basics and Interactive programs. Some of you might need to go backwards to earlier ones you missed. It shouldn't take you more than about 30 minutes.

  5. Email me if you get stuck. You might not be the only one!

  1. Ask a parent or grandparent what their favorite song was when they were a teenager.

Turn in: You should have turned in the Mercalli Intensity Scale Digital Notebook.

Today we are going to be reviewing earthquakes to prepare for the test on Monday. I suggest printing/copying anything you think would help you take the test. You will be able to use your notes but will not be able to use digital notes as your Chromebook will be locked during the test. Go to Google Classroom for the review.

After last week's review, today is TEST DAY! Find the test attached to today's post in Google classroom. Please send it, along with any other missing work, to Mr. Felten when finished. If you have questions, they could be asked during tomorrow's ZOOM sessions.


Pre-Algebra

Turn in: Make sure your Square Root Game Board is complete (6 boxes finished) and "turned in".

Today we will be learning about the properties of square roots. The Google Slide presentation has a couple short videos explaining them and an activity to practice with. Please start/work on today so that if you have any questions, you can ask questions during the ZOOM sessions tomorrow.

LIVE LESSON FRIDAY. Please try to make the morning session so you can work in groups. So much more fun with everyone together :)

  1. Read Tangerine from September 20th to November 4th. There are no questions posted in Classroom for this reading assignment. However, I will be posting a quiz, which covers these pages, on Friday for you to complete.

Chapter 8 Test is today. Posted in Classroom, reminder there are three different files. A form for matching, form for multiple choice, and a document for the essay questions. Take your time, use your book and do well!

  2. View my video about Thursday's 1-2pm Zoom with digital arts professionals, so you are prepared for the Zoom. The Zoom and its form are the only things you are doing on Thursday. The zooms are Thursday May 7 1:00 & 1:30 and will be linked in my Google Classroom. You are required to attend one, but, if you attend BOTH you, get double credit by attending both and filling a form for each afterwards! If you are need of make-up work, don't pass this extra bonus up!

  3. Use today to continue on any project you need to: Food photography, Still life, Extra Credit Church Photos, Extra Credit Stay At Home Documentary OR -

  4. Make-up work like the Google Website or missing forms.

LIVE LESSON TODAY. We are going to be working on the sheets that were with the items picked up at school this past weekend. You will also need colored pencils or crayons in the colors that are at the bottom of the map page. Since we are going to work in small groups on Zoom breakout rooms today, it would be great if everyone came to the 10 am session. It won't be as much fun with only 1 or 2 of you in the afternoon. Text your friends to make sure they join us!

Turn in: You should have turned in the photos from your ThinkCentral activity by the time we meet.

Some of you might need to go backwards to earlier ones you missed. It shouldn't take you more than about 30 minutes. I'm still deciding how to show the grading.

  6. Email me if you get stuck. You might not be the only one!

  7. Two of you are just about done with the Intro to JS. When you are done, you can go back to Tinkercad or Scratch. In this Google Assignment, you can make a private message that you are going back to Tinkercad or Scratch.


Religion

Go to Google Classroom and complete 5/4 Assignment. You will be finishing up your Life Plan essays this week.
