Technology Grade 5 April 29

Grades for work before the break are entered in TADS, not Google Classroom.

Today is Part 2. Now that you made your constellation drawing, we will write a story. (If you didn't make the drawing, go back to April 22.) We are pretending that we just discovered some new stars, galaxies, or planets and they make an interesting constellation in the sky. Today we will write a ONE PARAGRAPH story.

  1. Go to Google Classroom.

  2. Watch my video click here.

  3. Do you need help understanding constellations? Check out this video.

  4. Open the Google doc in this assignment. Instructions are typed in the document, and you need to delete the instructions as you do them.

  5. Write how the constellation was discovered and who did (this is make-believe-your creative writing)

  6. Write why your constellation was given this name, and the story behind it.

  7. Tell the story about the constellation person or event. Make it interesting.

  8. Close with a sentence inviting readers to view, or learn more about this constellation.

  9. Add the names of two special stars in your constellation, and name what type of star they are. Your drawing should show the color and size of the stars. Some of your stars could be: Red Giant, White Dwarf, Red Dwarf, Red or Blue Supergiants, tiny Brown Dwarfs.

  10. Insert the drawing into the document(see video). Resize if needed.

  11. Proofread.

Then, go to IXL and find the skills I have recommended for you in the L series (the stars are highlighted). Spend 30 minutes or get 4 100 smartscores (whatever comes first). Remember that I will be on ZOOM tomorrow from 10-11 and 1-2 if you have any questions. Otherwise, no class tomorrow, so complete these assignments and send me any work by Thursday.
