SHOULD YOU TAKE THE ACT?
It depends! Many colleges have shifted to "test-optional" meaning that they do not require the ACT. You should look at the ACT policy for the colleges you plan on applying to.
Even if all of the colleges you plan on applying to are test-optional, they might have institutional scholarships that you could be eligible for if you score high enough on the ACT. Check out the college's website to find this info.
If you're unsure whether or not you should take the ACT, talk to your counselor or stop by the CCRC!
REGISTERING FOR THE ACT
You can register for a National ACT Test date by going to ACT.org
For the in-school ACT in March -- students will sign-up in English classes two weeks before the test

IN-SCHOOL ACT AT HIGHLAND PARK
All juniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT at Highland Park in March 2026. More information will be shared when the in-school ACT date is finalized. Students will sign-up to take the ACT during Advisory.
If a student is not able to take the ACT on that date or misses the test date for whatever reason, they can register for a National Test date at www.actstudent.org
