Hmong Level 4
Course Length: Two Semesters (Year Long)
In this course, students will continue to study the Hmong alphabet, phonetics, expanded vocabulary and grammar through thematic themes. Themes include cultural celebrations, college and careers, differences and perspectives, hardship and adversary, and global issues. Students will continue to explore deeper into Hmong history, culture, traditions, and beliefs through a variety of authentic texts and cultural materials or through proposed independent studies of their own interests. This course also prepares students for the Seal of Bilingualism exam.
Through the ACTFL standards, students will develop language skills to interact and communicate effectively in multilingual communities. We will focus on five goal areas, known as the five C’s: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
