Hmong Level 2
Course Length: Two Semesters (Year Long)
This course introduces the basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through thematically designed units. Students will continue to study the basic Hmong alphabet, phonetics, grammar, and sentence structure. Themes include cultural expression, values and beliefs, geography and food, survival and sacrifices, and society and traditions. Students will explore the history, culture, traditions, and beliefs of the Hmong through these thematic units.
Through the ACTFL standards, students will develop language skills to interact and communicate effectively in multilingual communities. We will focus on five goal areas, known as the five C’s: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
