UNIFORM POLICY
ST PATRICK’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Rationale
Our school uniform has three purposes:
To instil a sense of pride and belonging in our students
That our community is recognisable in the wider Te Awamutu community
That our students are easily identifiable when on school trips
Guidelines
Students will wear full and correct uniform, as per the Uniform Schedule (Appendix A), to and from school.
Students are expected to wear the school’s sports uniform for PE lessons.
The PE uniform is the only acceptable change of clothing in the playground during break times
The school acknowledges that occasional one-off situations will occur when a child cannot wear all or part of the uniform. Parents and guardians are requested to provide the classroom teacher with a note in these instances.
Uniforms should be in good repair and in a clean and tidy condition.
There may be times when it is more practical for students to wear their PE uniform rather than their school uniform, for example in hot weather or on sporting trips. This is to be at the principal’s discretion.
