Contour Hand Drawings
Drawing and Painting 1
Students in Drawing and Painting 1 had to choose a 4-5 letter word for this project. They could select a word that describes them, their name, a nickname, a word that shares a special meaning, or a word that just sounds cool. Using the American Sign Language (ASL) alphabet students will use their non-drawing hand to position their fingers to form the sign letters of the word they have chosen and create a modified contour drawing of the word in sign language through observation. This assignment will be completed on white drawing paper using pencil/colored pencil/black sharpie. A final modified contour drawings will be done in class through observation drawing techniques and using what we have learned about lines in art/artwork.
