Use MotionGen to draw and simulate linkage mechanisms. Then make your mechanism come to life using SnappyXO.
See a two-minute demo of an early version of MotionGen in Dr. Purwar's TEDx talk.
Modular
The kit consists of a suite of basic planar pieces that can be snapped together to create the robot and machine design structure encompassing chassis, sensors, and actuator mounts.
Novelty
The novelty of the kit is in designing the compliance in a wide variety of materials, such as Acrylic and Delrin by creating unique geometrical features, such as slots, shapes, holes, and clips.
Easy to Produce
Only a laser cutter and compatible materials, such as Delrin, Acrylic, or wood are needed to produce SnappyXO parts.
Versatile
Various joints and parts including different gear sizes allow the kit to be highly versatile for making robots and structures.
No Tools
The kit does not require any special tools to assemble the robots and structures and the hardware created works with a range of sensors and actuators available in the market.
