We’re here to make Stony Brook University your home away from home!
Did you know that approximately HALF of Stony Brook University undergraduate students are commuters? Whether your commute is five minutes, two hours, or you’re a remote learner who only commutes from your bedroom to your desk; the Office of Commuter Student Services & Off-Campus Living is here to help you navigate your college journey.
Targeted Programming: We offer a wide range of events, initiatives and outreach (both in person and virtually) to engage and connect commuters not only to the campus community, but also to each other. We welcome you to join us at our events, some of our favorites include the Drive-In Movie, a collaboration with the student club, Commuter Student Association, and Commuter Appreciation Week, which we hold each semester.
Mentorship & Support: Our Commuter Assistant (CA) Program is an essential resource for incoming commuter students. Whether you’ll be commuting to campus 5 days a week or you’re an out of state or international remote learner, upon request, the CA Program pairs incoming commuter students with seasoned student leaders who provide support, advice, and mentorship. Questions about parking, classes, or how to get involved? We’ve got you covered. SIGN UP TODAY so we can get you set up. Request form available via the link below.
