The Empowerment Program was designed to provide assitance for students during their school day so that they feel empowered in areas of difficulty. This program will be offered to any student already enrolled in Pre-ETS who would benefit from the service; keeping those on the diploma track who may not have assistance already in place in mind.
We can provide daily check-ins with enrolled students to establish a routine with them, get them organized, and outline their schedule. Our goal is to establish accountability with the student so they feel empowered to stay on top of their work and maintain organization.
We are available to help support students using their accommodations in class so that students can get the most out of the classroom experience. We can integrate Pre-ETS into a student's school day by listening in on classes, empowering them to self-advocate, and working with teachers to establish different forms of communication for and with the student.
This program will help students translate the vital skills of E-learning to employability training. From this service, students can recieve community based support through workplace experiences.
The Empowerment Program should supplement their current support. We want to give teachers resources for students who need extra support, and give parents another point of contact for their child.
Student Self-Advocates is a student-led group where the participants learn about legislation that affects people with disabilities and accommodations offered in school and the workplace so they can better advocate for themselves. Student Self-Advocates has a heart for community involvement and spends time learning about things they can do to help others. Check out our video here!
