Mary Service
In Y2 we created some beautiful tissue paper flowers to offer to Mary on Monday 9th June when the whole school took part in the Mary service. They were tricky to make but worth it for the gorgeous display at the end - well done Y2ECo!
Class reward - A visit from Dolly
Science day
We had so much day celebrating science week in school. A huge thank you to Mr Hemsley for organising everything and performing some exciting experiments! We made (or tried to make) some slime in class - although the texture wasn't quite right in the end. But as our next class reward, we are going to tweak the ingredients and see if that makes a difference to the final result. Watch this space...
World Book Day
We had a wonderful day yesterday, celebrating World Book Day in school. The children looked amazing in their costumes, thank you so much for going to so much effort. In school, we had an assembly where we were rudely interrupted by some crayons having an argument. We still don't have an answer to the big question - Is yellow or orange the true colour of the sun?
Lena also shared her own book with all of KS1 in assembly. She even came dressed as her book. As a class, we are so proud of her and all the work she has done. We think she made a brilliant author!
An Alice in Wonderland 'Unbirthday party'!
Santa in School!
Today, we had a visit from Adele, who works for Chesterfield Fire and Rescue Team. She spoke to us about what the Fire and Rescue Team do and how they look after lots of different people. We watched a video called 'Dexter and Freckle - The Fire Plan' which is available on YouTube and thought about a fire plan which can keep us safe. However, we thought about more than just fires. We spoke about how the team can rescue us from lots of different scenarios. We spoke about how to stay safe in serious situations and the children were very sensible!
As a special treat for settling into the new academic year so well, we had hot chocolate today!
