Temperature
This week we started a new maths unit - temperature. We found out the unit of measurement for temperature, how temperature can be measured and what temperature water freezes at. Here are some pictures of our learning where we worked with our partners to understand the new terminology for the unit.
Regrouping
We have been learning how to regroup when doing addition and subtraction. We started with dienes to help us, and have moved on to drawing our tens and ones.
Multiplication and Division
We have been looking at multiplication and division using arrays and bar models.
Pictograms
We have been learning about pictograms and making them on J2Data. If you have time over the Christmas holidays, please make the most of this website and practice making pictograms. The child will be able to tell you how it all works. :)
Place value
We have now moved onto using standard units of measurement, focusing on cm and m.
As part of our topic on length, we have been using different items such as cubes and bead strings to measure things using non-standard measurements.
