Mr Sivasubramanian, Team leader
I am the Head of Computing and ICT at St Marylebone and also serve as the Team Leader for the school's robotics team.
Past FTC experience: Five years ago, I led a robotics team to the regional level at my former school. However, with the changes in rules and structure over the years, I feel like a beginner once again, excited to relearn and tackle new challenges with the team.
Fun fact: I’m a self-proclaimed bookworm and read for at least three hours a day. I enjoy cooking and singing—though I keep my vocal performances within the "protective walls" of my home, much to the playful annoyance of my family!
Kseniya, Project manager
I chose to be a part of the robotics team because I love STEM. As a maths scholar, I have always been inspired to be a part of something bigger and put my passion and skills to use. So when the opportunity came, I chose to be a part of the team and apply my skills to the real world using many abilities that I know will be beneficial to me when applied to my future careers.
Leah, Lead Data officer
I have always been interested in using technical skills to design creative innovations, so when I was offered this opportunity, I immediately signed up. Whilst I have worked on other projects prior to this competition, I have never taken part in a robotics competition. Because of this, I am thoroughly excited to learn more about this field and develop new hard skills in an ambitious, team-driven environment.
George, Lead software engineer
I love technology and have done quite a few robotics and programming projects in the past. I joined this time to help the younger years develop their interest in robotics and also to get better at managing and teaching others when working on a task in a group. My personal interests include: programming; robotics; gardening; playing the bass guitar.
Eleanor, software engineer
I absolutely love the thrill of making things come to life from my own ideas and hands (e.g. origami, baking, knitting). This includes programming and building which has inspired my dream to become a mechanical engineer. Therefore, I decided to join this challenge as it is the best opportunity for my future and shall help develop my skills for my future career (and for a bit of fun).
Coco, content creator
My passion lies in being able to help people and at the same time acquiring knowledge along the way, especially on robotics since the future is gearing towards technology. Participating in this robotic team/challenge turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to enhance my skills and learn new things from everyone else. I also enjoy coming up with new ideas and designing things eg putting pictures together, branding
Eureka, Inventory and strategy
I really love being organised and planning things out successfully, so this was a perfect opportunity to develop and put my skills to use. I am also quite passionate about computer science and have been considering a job in the field because I believe it will be extremely influential in the future.
Rosa, Outreach and data officer
Robotics interests me as it has hundreds of different jobs and components needed for it to work. I love working as a team and helping out, so it gives me great pleasure to be part of the Saubnautics team. I also enjoy taking part in a competition as it drives me to do better!
Jane, Lead financial officer
I'm very passionate about computer science and developing my skills and knowledge within the field. This challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity to gain experience of manipulating computing into practical projects which would help me develop the skills necessary to have a career in the field. Therefore, I decided to participate in the challenge as it seems like a fun, beneficial task to pursue.
Manar, general admin manager
I’m passionate about IT and always eager to grab new opportunities. This challenge is a great way for me to sharpen my leadership and communication skills while exploring different areas of computer science. I’m excited to learn, grow, and make the most of the resources available!
Mekdu, inventory manager
I took part in this competition to put to practical use what I have learnt through GCSE Computer Science. Through this experience, I hope to gain knowledge in new areas of coding that I haven't yet had the chance to explore -like CAD- and hopefully improve my programming skills through this challenge. My other interests include learning Japanese, kickboxing and reading
Rahma, data officer
I am a passionate about making a change in the STEM workforce, making sure that all women feel represented and this is why I am working as part of Subnautics. My role is data officer, I collect the data each meeting with information about productivity. I am so grateful to be a part of this team!
Aria, Drivetrain
I love computing and wish to further develop my skills, I also enjoy hands-on projects and this competition is a great chance for me to enhance my skills and knowledge in these fields. It will be an amazing challenge to compete in and I can also improve teamwork and communication. I am honoured to be in the Subnautics team. My personal interests include maths, crafts, computing and swimming
Rania, Drivetrain
Robotics interests me as it combines creativity with technical work. It also helps me learn more about the computing and mechanics fields, which I am considering for a future career. I look forward to developing new skills and working with my friends!
Ruth, content creator
I’ve been wanting to get involved with robotics for a while now, and its great to have the chance to do so as a team. I can’t wait to document everything we get up to! In my free time, I love making videos with my friends and baking.
Ava, Graphic designer and Outreach sub-team lead
My passion lies in DT and graphic design, and I aim to enhance my skills while being a part of the team. Participating in this robotics challenge appeared to be a great chance to gain design experience and acquire knowledge about robotics at the same time.
