Marshmallow Challenge
This year, we did something called the Marshmallow Challenge. We got split up into teams of three or four people. Everyone in that group had to cooperate with each other to build a structure that was able to balance itself in 18 minutes. The group with the highest standing structure would win the contest. The items we had to make it were 20 pieces of spaghetti, a yard of string, and a yard of tape, and a marshmallow. We were a bit successful at the beginning, but then one of us accidentally knocked down the structure so we had to try another time. The second time that we tried to make it, we could not get it to stand up at all. We each would try to build different parts of the structure and then try to combine them. This was one of my favorite projects so far because we all had fun, and we also were able to work together. If I were given the chance to do this again, I would definitely try again because now I know what we did wrong. I think it may have fallen because we did not have a good base on the bottom to hold it up. I think the entire class did this project because it helps improve our cooperation so that we can work better as a team. I learned that you shouldn't give up on what you are building.
