Cognitive science is the study of how humans think and learn. During the learning process, we input information into our working memory. How we process this changes its outcome. It can either be "learnt" and transferred into the long term memory, or be forgotten.
Ultimately, we want information to be transferred into our long term memory. This area of the brain is limitless, whereas our working memory (short term) is limited to a certain number of chunks of information. But how do we ensure this information gets to the right memory type?
