Each fall and spring semester, the CFA SAB will open an application for Professional Development Grants. Applications will be reviewed and voted upon at the Board meeting following the application deadline. The Board will allocate 40% of its semester budget or $5600, whichever is lower, per semester with a $350 cap on each individual students for these grants.
Funds can be used by current CFA students for professional development activities including, but not limited to, professional memberships, conferences, trainings, and webinars. Funds cannot be used for anything directly related to coursework including, but not limited to, tuition, fees, required assessments and materials, and travel to/from or parking at a field work site. The funds can also not be used for the purchase of alcohol or gift cards.
If approved for funding, applicants must submit all of the required documentation by the end of the term following the award of the grant in order to be reimbursed. All grants will be paid as a reimbursement and will require the submission of itemized receipts showing the approved purchase.
