Trying to master a tongue twister is great fun and there are so many you can try! Take a look at some I have found:
Twelve twins twirled twelve twigs.
Five frantic frogs fled from fifty fierce fish.
A synonym for cinnamon is a cinnamon synonym.
To become a Tongue Twister master, you must say them as quickly and as clearly as you can!
You could also try making some of your own and put your family members to the test!
Today is national numeracy day!
A great way to use this hiatus in formal schooling is to brush up on the basics. There are a huge number of basic facts that children need to know at different stages of school. The more confident your child is with these facts, the more accessible they will find the rest of the maths curriculum.
Making flash cards with questions/visual aids on one side and the answer/number sentence on the back are a quick and simple way to practise recall. And best of all, once your child knows the fact quickly and reliably, they can make a celebration of disposing of the card!
Facts worth knowing:
In this week's worship, Mrs Gonella explores the difference between being alone and being lonely. She shares with us some amazing examples of people who have endured long periods of being alone but, in their isolation, have also achieved incredible things.
Thank you very much Mrs Gonella for the time, thought and technical expertise you have dedicated to this week's Witness Worship.
Mrs Gonella would love to see your examples of spiritual journaling later this week. Please email them to: cgonella@stjosephsguildford.com
I'm sure you've seen more graphs and charts on the news recently than ever before? Well, hands down, this is the best data set I've enjoyed reviewing for some time!
Well done to Henry in Year 2 who has been analysing the important question of favourite foods. His graphs, charts and animations(!) make this a particularly fun way to explore the data.
p.s Henry, my vote is for strawberries too!
Our Gospel focus this week looks ahead to the Sixth Sunday of Easter. We find ourselves back at the Last Supper, around the table with Christ and his disciples as he tries to prepare them and reassure them about the events to come. Jesus explains that, although there will be times when the disciples feel alone - abandoned even, they will always find comfort in knowing God is with them. He describes how, by abiding in his commandments, we will come to understand God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (and so we're always in good company!)
Check out these monsters - aren't they cool!?
Why not have a go at creating some of your own? You start with the basic body shape and then can get creative with the eyes, mouth, legs... It reminded me of our author and illustrator visits during Book Week.
