Across all year levels students were asked to draw and paint portraits to demonstrate their understanding of facial expression and enrich their approach to a range of media. During remote schooling self portraits became the automatic subject matter of choice for a lot of the art making tasks - but also , judging from this collection , a particularly inspiring one too.

I have a real passion for art and in particular portraits. My preferred medium is pencil and these works entail hours of testing, blending, pressing and shading. The hardest part about completing this work is not taking any shortcuts and making sure that I devote an equal amount of time for every aspect of the artwork.
