Ecumenical Endeavours

Congregations and the clergy of the churches in Forres work collaboratively to provide a number of programmes throughout the year. This has contributed to offering opportunities of fellowship, worship and service to the local community that would not have been possible otherwise.

Messy Church Forres

Volunteers from churches in Forres together offer a monthly Messy Church for children and young families.

Child Poverty Initiative

This is a response to the shocking reality that Forres has the highest percentage of children living in poverty in the whole of Moray. Initiated by St John's, the coming together of members of all different churches in Forres provides the platform to explore and respond to the issue of poverty in Forres.

These gatherings aim to: promote awareness of the issue of child poverty in local churches and more widely in the local community; increase support for existing projects seeking to help children in poverty; identify potential opportunities for timely interventions, and learn from examples and experiences of efforts to respond to child poverty.

It is hoped that this exercise  will draw attention to the needs of children living in poverty in Forres and inspire appropriate action.
