A Good Soccer Player -- Personal Influence (P)
When a good soccer player is not in possession of the ball, he makes himself available for the ball, through a diagonal or a crossover run. He understands when to offer close support and when to stay away. He recognises the right time to execute "take overs" and "overlaps".
The Best Soccer Team -- Interpersonal Influence (IP)
The best soccer teams work well together. They communicate with their team mates and pass the ball around. The whole team understands that they need to help each other to score goals and win the game. For example when anyone is in space, they call out to the person with the ball so that they can pass the ball. Working together, helps everyone cooperate in set plays. Before a match strategies are developed in a game play routine and these practiced until they are perfectly executed.
Places (nations, cities and regions) that produce good soccer players-- Societal Influence (S)
Juventus are the biggest and wealthiest club in Italy, and Torino. Yet, the Piedmont region, with good infrastructure and high GDP, contributes very few players. However, Campania is among the best performers, despite having a substantially lower per-capita GDP. While the region produced plenty of gifted players -- Fabio Quagliarella, Lorenzo Insigne, Ciro Immobile and Gigio Donnarumma -- few came through the ranks at Napoli, the biggest local club. That might be because a number of northern clubs actively scout in the area.
Tips to improve your chance of scoring:
Shoot wide rather than high. There's a better chance of getting a deflection that will wrong-foot the goalkeeper.
Shoot low. It's harder for a keeper to reach shots along the ground because it's further for them to travel. It's easy for them to jump up and save, but much harder to crouch down and get it.
Shoot across the keeper. It's tougher for them to hold these shots, and means they could divert the ball back into the path of another attacker.
As an example of interpersonal skills, if you were going to give a classmate soccer tips what tips would you give?
Self-evaluation or self-reflection in soccer. Remember to give specific examples and use the words you have learnt so far:
I would give myself an achieved for soccer because I can now kick goals because I listened well to instructions and practiced to improve my technique.
I would give myself an achieved for soccer because I showed teamwork. I am no longer selfish and try to get the ball for myself but I use the set plays we have been taught to help the team score goals. I also use encouraging words to support my team mates when they miss. I used to laugh at them and make them feel bad.
You can also try to see your achievements from your teacher's viewpoint.
For the teacher, this would look like me passing the ball and calling out possible set moves we could use to score goals.
For the teacher, this would look like me encouraging my team mates to score and try again if they miss. The teacher would hear me saying, "Pass the ball to J, he is ready to score." "Good job, let's have another go."
