The U.S. National Archive Museum is were the Declaration of Independence sits. It has been there for over 60 years. The museum is also home to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In 1930 John Russel Pope was selected to design the U.S. National Archive museum.
The archive museum is 166 feet tall , 213 feet wide , and 330 feet long. The two paintings are 14 by 37.5 feet. One painting shows the declaration of independence being signed. The other other one shows the constitution being signed.
These are the doors to the archive museum. They are believed to be the largest bronze doors in the world. Each door stands about 38 feet high 10 feet wide and 1 foot thick. In total they weigh 13 tons.
The archive is home to over 13 billion pages of writing. It is home to 44 million still photos. Also 91 million feet of motion picture film. It is the place to learn about Americas most important documents.
