LEARNING SUPPORT CORNER
Rounding to the nearest ten and hundred can be a challenging skill as students develop their understanding of place value and learn to determine which number is closest.
In our classroom, we use a variety of strategies and tools to help students build a strong foundation for rounding, including open number lines, place value charts, and other visual models. These tools help students see the relationship between numbers and make rounding easier to understand.
Your child will have a copy of this rounding tool in their take-home folder. Please remember to return it to school each day so that we can continue using it as a resource during our math lessons.
We encourage you to use this tool when practicing rounding at home. With continued practice and the use of these strategies, students will become more confident and independent with this important math skill.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to strengthen your child’s mathematical understanding!
