Summer reading Info-Here are some summer reading challenges and freebies if you want your kiddos to participate this summer:
BCPL - Unearth A Story - The program begins this Saturday with a big kickoff party at Arbutus Branch from 11 am - 2pm. The game boards and online tracking will be available on this website or through Beanstack app starting June 6th.
Barnes and Noble - Read 8 books to receive a free book from the list. Print the Reading Challenge here.
Book It Summer Stories - Log reading to receive a Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hunt (like our old days!)
White House Summer Reading Challenge - This is new! Students read 12 books and complete the log. They should also write a reflection on their favorite book. When this is complete - students will receive acknowledgement and a bookmark from the White House and be entered for other prizes!
Scripps Spelling Bee: Great Words, Great Works 2026 Reading List - While this is not a "challenge" per say - many kids are interested in the spelling bee. The 2027 Book List will come out early next year - but this could be a wonderful resource for kids wondering what books to read next.

Powerschool
Your third grade child's grades are kept in an online gradebook called Powerschool. We recommend that all parents visit Powerschool often in order to keep informed of your child's progress. You can visit this website to learn how to sign in to Powerschool:
