Sophie Confer – Inner Conflict

This is a self-portait. I created this piece using Adobe Photoshop. Using the self timer on my Canon Rebel T6, I took photos with a variety of expression. Taking the images into Photoshop on my personal MacBook Pro, I layered the images and adjusted color and transparency.

This piece was made in Adobe Photoshop. I cut out pieces of gradients in the shape of Lucas and played with the different filters to create the cool and warms tones around him. I preserved the background as it was as in the original photo because the greens looked really vibrant. The top is a reflection of the picture, so it appears Lucas is also in the sky. I used filters to create the super blue sky and trees. The last thing I did was cut out the flower that was in his ear and place it on top of all the filtered pieces, to kind of highlight that part.
The assignment was called Gradient. We had to choose a photo we liked and use gradients and photoshop to enhance it. I'd say about 3 hours was spent on this piece.

In Graphics Arts class we got to make little album covers with a "playlist" of songs that we enjoy. I used Adobe illustrator and photos i've taken to create mine. I wanted to take something I had already created and make it something completely new so I added many layers to make the photos almost unrecognizable, which was my goal. I sketched the bunny in my sketchbook and decided to add it to this to make it a bit more personal along with adding a bit of my own touch to a digital project.

Blooming White is a geometrical project made in Adobe Photoshop. The original photo is one of my favorite photos I have ever taken. I also really enjoyed the geometric project we did in class, so I combined the two. This project only took me about a half an hour, but I like it more than some of the longer projects I have done. I chose to submit this piece because it is all original and I am very proud of it.

I used a Canon Rebel T6 camera to take this photo in my garden. In class, we had an assignment to take close up abstract photos of things from nature and you'd see everyday. While on the hunt for images, I noticed how gorgeous this statue was. I snapped a quick picture and later used photoshop to add the black and white filter.
