Students are encouraged to bring along their pet on Ag Day to share with the judges and school community.
Judges will be looking at the animal’s health, grooming, and presentation, as well as the care and bond shown between the child and their pet.
Knowledge and Care
The judge wants to know how much you know about your animal
What age is it?
What is your pet’s name and why did you choose it?
What breed is it?
What have you done to keep it warm and safe?
How often have you fed it?
What have you done to look after it?
Have you had any issues? How did you deal with this?
Relationship / Bond
The judge will be looking for Does the animal trust the child? Can you see the child has put in effort and care? Judges often look for a positive connection between child and pet.
