Modern Studies Department
Bonjour à tous and hola a todos…
Hello from everyone in the Modern Languages Faculty here at Saint Modan's. We are all very excited to see you all in August and we hope that you and your families are doing well.
In Modern Languages at Saint Modan's, we learn French and Spanish. You may have some knowledge of these languages already and you might have studied them at Primary School. If not, don't worry! We will help you lots throughout your time here.
Learning languages isn't only about being able to speak in a different language. We like to learn about different countries and their cultures. We learn about their music, food and history. For us, it is important to learn about being a Global Citizen.

We have been very lucky to have been able to visit both France and Spain on excursions in recent years. We normally go to Paris with S2 pupils where we see the Eiffel Tower and visit Disneyland.
Last September, we organised a trip to Madrid for the first time. A group of S5/6 pupils had an authentic visit with tapas, a trip to the bullring and most importantly, to the Bernabéu!

We also had the opportunity to visit Edinburgh Zoo to learn all about conservation in South America.
We really hope you are looking forward to coming to Saint Modan's and we can't wait to get started with you.
