I usually collect sanitary products from the Pixie Patrol in School, can I access free sanitary products while the school is closed?
Access to free sanitary products
We have teamed up with Hey Girls to make sure you are ‘Period Protected’ during Covid – 19.
Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government, free sanitary products will continue to be available throughout Stirling.
Although our School collection points are temporarily closed during COVID-19, we are trialling a new ordering service so you can still get access to the products you need.
Any young person who menstruates up to 25 years is very welcome to use this free service, but you must live, go to school, or work/volunteer in the Stirling Council area and provide a Stirling post code for delivery.
A range of products across four care packs are available to choose from.
The online trial is for an initial two weeks (until 25 May 2020) and then will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Products may take up to six weeks to arrive after initial ordering. After the initial 2 weeks, the survey monkey closes orders are confirm then they are packed and delivered to your house.
We will endeavour to keep this time as short as possible but we also want you to plan ahead.
If you don’t receive your order after 6 weeks please email SPandYP@stirling.gov.uk

I am an S1 pupil, will I still be able to ‘swap out’ my Chromebook?
We made good progress with this prior to the school closure. If you missed this opportunity then we will arrange for this to happen as soon as it is safe to do so. Please keep an eye out on twitter for updates.
Will I get my Report?
Tracking reports will not be issued given the current school closure.
Do I need to complete the work being set on google classroom?
Yes, it is really important that you continue your learning during this period of closure. It will be important for your well-being that you maintain a routine. To support this, your class teachers will be posting regular work on google classroom. You might want to consider following your school timetable to support this. However, do not worry if you are unwell or you are spending time caring for others and are unable to complete it all. Also, if you need help or don’t understand something, you should contact your teacher directly through your google classroom. More support for Google Classroom can be found on the school website, specifically in the Digital School Bag.
I have picked my subjects for next year. Do I need to continue to work on subjects that I will no longer be studying?
Yes, it is important that you continue with all the subjects in your Broad General Education. Our curriculum has been designed to meet all the requirements and entitlements of a Curriculum for Excellence and it will help to ensure that you have a breadth of knowledge going forward. Also, we are unable to confirm subject choices at this stage and you therefore do not know what you will be studying next year.
I am in S2 or S3 and I have not made my subject choices for next year. What do I need to do?
Your Principal Teacher of Pupil Support will be in touch with you shortly to ask you to complete this process. If they do not get in touch then you have already made your choices and we will be in touch once that process is finalised.
I’ve left things in my school locker, will I be able to collect them?
No, at the moment the school is closed to all pupils. We will update you as soon as the situation changes. Keep an eye out on Twitter for updates!
I am supposed to be going on the Battlefields Trip, is this still going ahead?
Foreign Office and Government advice has stated that all foreign trips should be cancelled. However, as yet there is no guidance regarding the timescale for this advice. As this trip is planned to take place at the end of May, we are currently awaiting instruction from Stirling Council regarding next steps. Our Senior Education team is working closely with Stirling Council insurance department and we will update you all as soon as we can.
UPDATE | 02/04/2020
Schools are cancelling trips in line with Government guidelines and timescales for cancellation. Through individual company insurance or Council insurance, every endeavour will be made to recover the full monies to return to parents. As we work through this process, more information will follow as soon as possible.
I am in S3, will my work experience placement still be going ahead?
We don’t know yet. Our work experience arrangements may need to be cancelled if schools remain closed and/or employers are unable to accommodate placements. We are monitoring the situation and will provide you with an update as soon as we are sure.
I normally have a meeting in school with my Pupil Support Teacher and my Parent/Carer to discuss my progress. Will this meeting take place this term or next?
All the meetings that would normally take place will be postponed and rescheduled for when everything is back to normal. However, your Pupil Support Teacher will be making contact over the phone to make sure that everything is going well.
If I feel I need to speak to someone about everything that is going on, where can I get support?
You can contact your PT Pupil Support via the Year Group Google Classroom.
