Moving Learning Forward

Young people will start following their new stage of learning on Monday 1 June

New S2

If your child is moving into S2 their Google Classrooms will remain the same.

New S3-6

  1. Young people should check Google Classroom and make sure they are assigned to the correct subject Google Classroom. In most subject areas they will not have just one teacher. There will be different staff available for support at different times.

  2. Most subjects will not be posting work period by period they will be setting work with a deadline for one or two weeks or longer if it’s a project. Make sure you complete all the work and submit it by the due date. If there any problems just let your teacher know.

On Monday 1 June 2020, we will move to our new timetables and new year groups. Please go to your Google Classroom homepage to accept the invite to your new classes and expect work to be issued from staff on the days detailed below.

Work hard and stay safe together with Google Classroom and Bannockburn High School.

Questions and Answers

First of all, don’t panic – we’ve got lots of staff on hand to answer any questions you have and to help and support you.

I don’t remember what subjects I have picked…

Don’t worry, contact your pupil support teacher who will be able to let you know which subjects you have

I didn’t pick this subject…

The class lists came from the course choice process that happened prior to the school closing. If you think there has been an error, you should contact your pupil support teacher and they will be in touch in due course. Remember choices were made, and for a variety of reasons, not everyone would get all of the choices. Until any changes are made, take this opportunity to engage with the tasks set, you never know, you might really enjoy them and want to stay!

I’m at the wrong level…

Don’t worry about the level you are at just now; these can change throughout the year. Let your class teacher know and they will pass this information on to the Curriculum Leader who will have a look at things and get back to you around levels.

I’m not in the google classroom for my new subject…

Let your Pupil Support teacher know or the school office and we’ll get it sorted out.

I don’t have the resources I need…

Get in touch with the school office or your Pupil Support teacher and we will sort this out for you.

I am struggling with using Google Classroom…

Refer back to the Google help sheets we emailed out before the holidays. If you are still having issues let us know and we’ll see what we can do to help. We also have paper home learning packs that we can deliver to your house.

Please get in touch if you have any other questions.
