About me
I am so excited to be back as your music teacher here at St. Gabriel the Archangel! This is my sixth year here at Gabe's, and my tenth year of teaching music in Catholic schools.
I grew up in the Kansas City area, which is where I first discovered my passion for music. I began taking violin lessons when I was three years old and the rest, as they say, is history. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Benedictine College in 2015 and taught general music, choir, and orchestra for 4 years before arriving here at St. Gabriel.
When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my husband and my dog. We love to go for walks in Francis Park! When we're not out and about, we are watching our favorite movies or TV shows. And, of course, I love to practice the violin!
I am blessed to be a member of the St. Gabriel community! It feels great to be a part of such a hard working and dedicated staff.

Kindergarten through 5th grade students will be learning about all sorts of musical concepts. With the help of Quavermusic.com, students will experience different styles of music, move to reinforce different musical concepts, and create their own music. Some of the musical elements that we will learn include, but are not limited to...pitch, instruments, meter, rhythm, dynamics, and tempo.
Students in the 6th through 8th grades begin the year by reviewing the elements of music and how to describe them in the music they hear every day. They then branch out into different units. 6th grade will learn about different music styles, 7th grade will explore music from around the world, and 8th grade will learn about the importance of Music in Film.
