Potential ethical issues that must be addressed
1. Misuse: users might misuse our product for unintended purposes that include: misrepresenting data to pump up the price of the used vehicle, and checking on certain metrics while driving.
2. Privacy and security: as part of our process, we will be collecting and storing sensitive data from our users. It is our responsibility to ensure that their data is kept private and secure from attackers.
Furthermore, we must ensure the security of our user's other personal information, such as their username, email address, password, name, phone number, etc.
3. Using data to improve our products and services: the data that is collected from our users will be valuable for further improving the DashHub.
4. Detecting dangerous and possibly illegal driving tendencies by drivers that use our product
Solutions to eliminate anticipated ehtical issues
1. Protection against misuse: certain warnings must be given and agreed to by the customer before using the product. These warnings and agreement contracts must be consulted with a competent legal agency that will have experience in such contracts. Furthermore, safety mechanisms will be designed directly in the application in order to prohibit these foreseeable cases of misuse such as ensuring the user is not driving at the same time they are using the product.
2. Privacy and security of user data - our team must be intensely focused on keeping any data collected from our users private and secure. We will achieve this by encrypting sensitive data.
3. User data used for improving DashHub services - users who wish to share their data with DashHub must give explicit consent and always have the option to cease sharing their data.
4. Dangerous and possibly illegal driving tendencies - DashHub can not inform law enforcement about any user habits, that will be a grievous breach of user privacy. We can however give recommendations and warnings to our customers upon detecting such behavior.
