Milestone 1
Milestone 1.1: Customers
Customers (those that transact with you, the people buying):
Leagues (pro, semi-pro, college, high school, travel)
Individual teams (analytics)
Coaches (travel teams, lower level play)
Third party training staff (educational tool)
Fans (subscription service for data access)
Stadiums
Gambling venues/websites (FanDuel, etc.)
Players (self reflection, Fitbit model)
Scouts (freelance)
Showcase staff and combines
Clothing manufacturer (might be a business partner depending on relationships)
Regulatory government body (assess violations, create new regulations)
Parents (child safety, statistic gathering, peace of mind, choosing what sport is best for the child)
Prediction of chronic pain/injury
Pickup players (more on the angle of health and exercise. How are we different from Fitbit)
Game developers (more real-world reflection of the games)
Milestone 1.2: Needs
A device that is not too bulky and in the way.
The device can be made into clothing, or be an external tool that you wear (watch, anklet, etc.)
An application for the data acquired that is easy to navigate.
A device that is easy to set up and use.
Milestone 1.3: Requirements
The device shall be able to acquire data that is not only informative but is also correct and accurate.
Applications (Website, IOS app, Android) shall be made and link with the device in order to display data there.
AI shall be able to gather all data collective and make statements to the user depending on what the data is.
ex.) The AI gathers information of a center in a football game and gives statements to that center about the best ways they blocked during the game and ways to block to avoid injuries.
Milestone 1.4: Needs-Requirements Mapping
Define customers and stakeholders more (age, location, when, who)
Assign who is going to speak to who and when. What information do we want from them (open ended questions: to what extent… how often… do you consider)?
Minimum threshold of interviews that are statistically significant: 50 interviews (~9 per person)
Do not relate it to a product, just pose it as a survey. We don’t want to bias them. This is an academic exercise. Ask them if you can record it.
With supplemental online survey.
Read up on Fitbit, Apple Watch, any health apps and other data collection tools to compare.
