Customers, Needs, Requirements, Needs-Requirements Mapping

Coaches

To train their teams to be the best, coaches are coaching their team both on and off the field. During practices and games, they plan training regiments and create plays for the players to follow.

Coaches mostly use their own judgement to determine which players to play. They also use their past experience to inform their decisions. They don't use any data regarding fouls.

Fans

While watching the game, whether it be in the stadium or in their own home, fans question the calls being made by referees, and the thought process behind them. Some fans are biased to the team that they support, and may view the game with a biased perspective.

Referees communicate calls to fans using hand signals. Instant replays are also played.

Referees

The referee's job is to officiate the sports game fairly. They watch over the entire game with a naked eye, and decide plays in a matter of minutes in order to keep the game at play.

In the case of large fouls or obvious errors, slow-mo replay videos of plays are used to help referees determine if a foul was made or not and the severity of it.

Players

During the game, players may occasionally commit fouls or get fouled.

Players often adjust their play based on the roughness they are recieving from the other team,

and on what is being allowed by the referee.

There really is no consistency in determing fouls. With a lack of real time data, referees may not always catch an error that was made. At the same time, what one referee considers a foul, another referee may allow.

General Managers

The team roster is created is created at the beginning of the season. General managers seek players who perform well and who they believe are going to win games.

To determine who they want on their team, general managers use player's skill information as well as videos from past seasons.
