7th and 8th graders have been learning about prehistoric art.  We looked at samples of art from around the world including cave art systems such as the Chauvet cave which is estimate to be about 30,000 years old and contains the oldest human footprint ever to be accurately dated. 

We also talked about the discovery of the Lascaux cave in France and watched a virtual tour of the cave while we made our own "cave wall" paper. 

The next step is adding our drawings to the cave wall!  The students will roll a dice to see which limited color pallete they will get as well as which animal and human forms they will have to create a story with.  I can't wait to see what they do!
