Hello! My name is Sarah Mancilla. I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade again this year! This is my fifth year at St. Stephens. Before SSM, I taught at an alternative school for students with learning struggles. As someone that had 13 years of Catholic education, I was eager to be at a Catholic School.
My husband, Phil, and I have 3 children: Dominic, Dante, and Talia. Dante and Talia attend SSM and LOVE IT! Dominic was born with a rare and serious heart condition that unfortunately took him early from this words at the age of 5 months. We keep his memory with us daily and support congenital heart disease awareness through the Heart Hero Organization. The 4 of us love superheroes, Ghostbusters, and Pokemon. What's your favorite superhero?

My name is Karissa Nichols. I am so excited to join the St.Stephen's community! I am coming from St.Bernard school where I also taught 3rd grade. I received my Bachelor's degree from College of Saint Mary here in Omaha, and grew up at St.Mary's Catholic school in O'Neill, NE. I absolutely love teaching alongside the Catholic faith and am eager to teach all of your 3rd graders in their Religion class this year.
When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my fiance, Matt and our toddler, Lucy. We love to be outside reading, hiking, or sitting by the pool. I also enjoy crocheting, painting party banners, and crafting of any kind! I am usually listening to music (usually Taylor Swift) and thrift shopping. I'm so excited for this school year! If you see me around, ask me about my current craft project! :)

Hello! My name is Stephanie Curran, and I am very excited to be joining the 3rd grade team at SSM! I began my teaching career in 3rd grade back in 2003 and have had the opportunity to work in both public and private schools. Throughout my career, I have taught 3rd and 4th grade, worked as a behavior interventionist, taught summer school, and served as a long-term substitute. For the past five years, I have taught 6th grade ELA at St. Patrick’s in Elkhorn. I am excited to return to 3rd grade and look forward to getting to know my students and their families!
Outside of school, I am a proud mom of five and grandma to one, with another grandbaby arriving in September! My husband and I love to travel and enjoy riding motorcycles together—I ride an RG3 (three-wheeled motorcycle). I especially love spending time in the mountains and forests. I am a professionally trained singer-- sometimes the kids get me to sing opera (if they are good). We are also a family of dog lovers and have four dogs at home! I also have a special love for Highland Coos, or “cows,” which inspired the theme for our classroom this year. I’m looking forward to a fun year filled with learning, laughter, and lots of happy memories!
