PLEASE NOTE: These tools will be discussed at length in class. We will work together to install a few of the Add-ons in Google Docs. Then, you can install more independently.

Resources to assist with YOUR research and writing process...

As you locate these resources, bookmark the online resources so they are easy to access. You can create a bookmark folder to place all these project resources. Organization is key!

MASTER CLASS - Register to participate in a class taught by the "Masters." Click on "Categories" to view the different categories (topics) and who is teaching.

KAMI - A Google app that has been added to your school Google account that allows you to edit pdf files...including adding text, highlighting, drawing, making comments, etc.

KEEP - a Google app in your school account to set up a to-do list, keep websites, images, resources, written and audio notes, etc.

This app has been added to use in your Google account.

POCKET - another online (and offline) bookmark or favorite for saving websites, music, videos, images, text and other content

SAS Writing Reviser - add-on for Google Docs is a free suite of tools that provides guidance and support throughout the revision stage of the writing process

SAS Writing Navigator - add-on for Google Docs that guides you through the entire writing process, provides feedback about what you write, helps you begin to think like an experienced writer and helps you collect research information and document it appropriately

WriteWell Online - Chrome extension writing app with an intuitive editor and a vast library of writing templates to jumpstart your writing project by choosing from the vast template library

This app has been added to your Google account to use in Docs. When you open Google Docs, look under Add-ons and follow the install process.

Calmly Writer - designed to help you focus on writing; and as you start typing, all the distracting options disappear from the interface and also includes "focus mode" option, which highlights only the paragraph you are editing at the time

Bibliography.com - online tool automatically generates citations for your bibliography in MLA, APA, Chicago and more in three easy steps

MyBib - online tool that generates citations in MLA, APA and Chicago formats for your bibliography

Citations in Google Docs - Google Docs has a citation and bibliography creator that will insert the bibliography directly into any Google Doc

ThinkTank - online tool to help refine a topic and create more manageable research

Mindomo - Chrome extension that visually outlines complex concepts, tasks, ideas, and other related information in a structured form or mind mapping

MindMup - Google app for mind mapping that has been added to the school's Google account and can be found in the array of apps in your school account

MindMeister - Chrome extension that allows you to create, edit and share mind maps online; AND works with Google Drive!

Word Counter - online editor can help you to improve word choice and writing style, and, optionally, help you to detect grammar mistakes and plagiarism

Hemingway App - used online with submitted text to highlight lengthy, complex sentences and common errors, define use of passive voice, identify weak or hard to read sentences, etc.
