Passion Project

at St. Elizabeth School

Passion Projects are creative side projects. They’re connected to your deeper meaning and they have tangible outcomes.

Anyone can do them. What you need most is inspiration and commitment.

A passion project is something YOU work on that allows YOU to explore YOUR own passions and encourages YOUR creativity inside and outside the classroom. It provides YOU a choice in what YOU learn during a set period of time during or outside of school.

Your Passion Project is not just a Project....It is a story.

...might include learning to play the violin, piano or guitar, writing a book of fiction, creating a documentary, prototyping a gardening app, doing 30 days of random acts of kindness, creating a how-to video, building an engine, designing clothes, writing music, writing a book of poetry, developing a cookbook of family, cultural, or favorite recipes, the science of dance or home runs or shooting baskets, designing a building or redecorating a room, finding the inspiration for a movie, how to use a specific app or educational tool, coding, building a rocket, building a car, teaching someone to draw, researching your family ancestry, a collection - it's history and meaning, how to train for a 5K, 10K, etc., how to improve yourself in a sport or other passion, developing a blog about books you read, love, want to read, how to prepare for your passion "job," etc.

...whatever your passion or interest might be.

...will surround learners in community service and service learning. Everyone will be empowered to find a community project, organization, or a topic that makes an impact and create a response from others.

...are an opportunity for learners to choose a "service" topic to research, investigate, make contact, create background history and inform, then develop some sort of artifact to represent the chosen "service" topic. The artifact can be an infographic, brochure, or video (PSA) to advocate understanding,

...asks learners to develop an action plan or program to develop understanding by others and ask for participation.

The final work will be presented on a digital bulletin board, a Padlet. As COVID restraints are lifted, there will be a service learning fair to showcase all projects.

Students at St. Elizabeth School are an awesome inspiration and this spring project is an opportunity to reflect on and integrate the principles of our ChristSkills through a service experience.

Not sure what your passion is yet?

No worries. You will discover it by using a variety of tools and resources with time to search, collaborate, discuss and reflect!
